Archived: This event was in 2008.

Fron Male Voice Choir

Help the Aged and Fron Male Voice Choir join together for this festive charity event.

For the second year, Help The Aged will stage a huge charity event at Manchester Cathedral with the help of Fron Male Voice Choir. Fron Male Voice Choir are the UK's oldest boy band and have spent the year playing to sold out crowds across Europe, as well as celebrating being short listed for the Brit Classical Album of the Year Award. They will be joined by the incredible Lorna Luft, daughter of Judy Garland and star of The Lowry's Christmas production of The Wizard of Oz, and Arthur Bostram, Officer Crabtree in the BBC comedy 'Allo 'Allo. There will be mulled wine and mince pies following the concert, courtesy of Harvey Nichols.

Money raised from the event will go to Help The Aged's Christmas Lunch programme. Each year, many older people across the country spend Christmas alone. The Christmas Lunch programme works to support older people's groups and projects in the UK to offer a Christmas event for their participants, sometimes creating the only opportunity participants have to socialise and take part in a festive celebration.

The concert begins at 11am and tickets are £22.50 or £12.50 for senior citizens and children. For more information or to book tickets, call 0207 2391922.
