Anthony Hegarty joins forces with Manchester Camarata and Nico Muhly for an outstanding pair of concerts at the second Manchester International Festival.
With his tender, ethereal tenor voice, Anthony Hegarty is one of the most distinctive singers to have picked up the Mercury Music Prize. Now Manchester International Festival has announced that the Chichester born, New York based artist will join forces with the 36-piece Manchester Camarata to perform a selection of songs by cutting edge composer Nico Muhly for two nights in a stunning new commission based at Manchester Opera House.
The collaboration follows the success of Anthony and the Johnson’s electrifying concerts with London Symphony Orchestra at The Barbican, and will give fans the chance to explore a relationship that has defined the new Anthony and the Johnsons album, The Crying Light. Combining soaring vocals, peerless music and lighting by Paul Normandale, these concerts will leave you moved, uplifted and inspired.
