Badly Drawn Boy to play Manchester

Badly Drawn Boy to play Manchester

Following the successful launch of Embrace frontman Danny McNamara's new night The Aftershow, Badly Drawn Boy announces a one-off Manchester gig...

When Danny McNamara announced that he was launching a new band night at Sankeys we admit we were intrigued. Sankeys has made a name for itself over the last couple of decades as the heart of the dance music scene in Manchester, with nights such as Tribal Sessions and Bugged Out! gathering a huge following across the clubbing community, but this was the first time it had played host to an indie and rock night

The Aftershow has proved to be a huge success. Sterling performances from up-and-coming acts such as the Ting Tings and Gideon Conn have shown that McNamara's finger is firmly on the pulse, while a set from the Magic Numbers shows the night can also attract established acts.

Now local hat-wearing hero Badly Drawn Boy has added his seal of approval to the night with a one-off appearance at the club. Enjoying critical acclaim for his recent album 'Born in the UK', this is a rare chance to see the singer perform an intimate gig, supported by Hey Bulldog, Lowlife, The Beep Seals, The Travelling Band, Air Cav and  The Monks Kitchen, plus some very special secret guests. There are only 600 tickets available for the night, so act quickly if you want to go...
