Bare Bones 6 at The Lowry 10th and 11th February

Archived: This event was in 2009.
The Lowry hosts two nights of up close and personal dance in this stunning new show.
Bare Bones 6 sees four internationally renowned dance makers come together to showcase four new pieces of dance which explore the limitations of the body, power relationships and personal space. Rui Horta will present Container, a piece that questions the power of empty space. In Garry Stewart’s Magnification, the inner workings of the body are explored using both the physicality of the dancers and a sound scape built up of Foley sound effects. In David Massingham’s new work Hinterland, dazzling leaps and lifts are used to create a spectacle which is both moving and exciting. Finally, Charlotte Vincent’s Straight Talking is a solo piece in which one dancer attempts to transcend the beautiful to arrive at a new dance horizon.
The innovative dance pieces are brought up-close and personal by a redefined stage, in which the audience are seated on all four sides of the dancers. This creates new perspectives for the audience and intensifies the experience of this highly physical and exciting show.
