Billy Connolly in Intimate Show at the Apollo 23rd to 25th September

Over the last thirty years, Billy Connolly has been an actor, a TV presenter and a folk singer. He has appeared in films, TV shows, documentaries and on the radio. He's written three plays and been the subject of at least two books. He has, you might say, been about a bit.

But all these other strings to the Big Yin's bow are easily forgotten because Billy Connolly is so well known as a stand-up comic. He got his first big break on Parkinson thirty years ago, with a 'shocking' joke about murder and bottoms, and hasn't looked back since. Since then he's performed all over the world. Nothing, it seems, is taboo, from the Last Supper to his father's illness.
