Busta Rhymes at the Sheridan Suite 25th May
In Gigs
Archived: This event was in 2008.
New York's Busta brings his high-speed rap delivery ahead of the release of his eighth album, 'Blessed'.
The most idiosyncratic personality in rap, the godfather of the club banger, Busta Rhymes returns with a vengeance for a brand new tour as a follow up to the 'Big Bang', to once again mesmerise the crowds with sidekick Spliff. In an up close and personal live performance, the dynamic duo will undoubtedly deliver an unforgettable performance of complexity, inventiveness and trade mark humour hosted by The Sheridan, on May 25th which is Bank Holiday Sunday. Support comes from Hydro, Natalia and Manchester's own Broken English.
This gig takes place at the less well-known Sheridan Suite on Oldham Road, just over a mile north from the city centre.

An interesting night
By AJ
An interesting night, Busta delivered in true fashion a fast-paced, well delivered performance, aside from a few less than happy punters in the audience who 'apparently' were members of a group due to perform as supporting acts and Busta's one on one confrontation with the less than amused group, it was highly entertaining. I don't think the Sheridan suite was the best venue but that's just personal preference, I couldn't see 50 cent or P Diddy performing there as it just wreaked of amateurville locality, but Busta is a man of the people so I suppose he's willing to be accessible to as many as possible. The supporting acts were less than impressive and come to think of it, none really stand out. DJ Scratchator made me travelling from London totally worth it (aside from seeing Busta of course) his set was entertaining, creative, accurate and effective, I hadn't experienced something like that in a long time. Overall assessment 6/10.
