Chris De Burgh at The Bridgewater Hall 28th April 2008

Archived: This event was in 2008.
A prolific recording artist, Chris De Burgh had released five albums before his 1982 release The Getaway began to make an impact on the public. However, it was not until he released The Lady In Red that he achieved full star status. The single topped the charts and became one of the most popular love songs of the 1980s, and its accompanying album Into The Light took the #2 spot in 1986 shortly afterwards.
Famed for the narrative qualities of his songs, De Burgh went on to release three more top 5 albums – Flying Colours, Power of Ten and This Way Up – between 1986 and 1995. Though he continues to tour and record, he has never quite achieved the dizzying success of that period – though that may change with the release of brand new album, Footsteps, this month.
Now fans both new and old have the chance to hear the old classics alongside his new material when he plays The Bridgewater Hall in April.
