Daniel O'Donnell at Manchester Apollo 11th June

Legendary Irish crooner Daniel O'Donnell to thrill fans at Manchester Apollo.
A few years ago, one dark and chilly night, we came across an unusual sight. Three women of advanced years were sitting on deckchairs at the steps of the Palace Theatre, wrapped up in scarves and sharing out tea from a thermos flask. We couldn't help but wonder why they were there, so we stopped and asked them. They beamed and said"Daniel O'Donnell, of course!"
If you've not come across him yet, Daniel O'Donnell is best described as Cliff Richard's long-lost Irish brother. Camp as Christmas, as cheesy as gorgonzola and as threatening as a Persian kitten in a cotton wool bed, he has been releasing songs like Give A Little Love, Morning Has Broken and You Raise Me Up since his debut as a fresh-faced boy in 1984.
The crooner's fan base may be getting on a bit but they're as passionate about him as teenagers with a boy band crush. Over his career O'Donnell has released 20 top 40 albums, 15 hit singles and sold over 10 million records - not to mention t-shirts, key rings and mugs bearing his face. Now we have discovered that Daniel O'Donnell will be playing two UK dates this June, and one of them will be at Manchester Apollo. Treat your gran to a ticket - she'll love it!
