Elbow announce a one-off homecoming gig this September to celebrate a fantastic year.
It’s been a hard journey for Elbow. Despite critical success since their first album in 2001, they never really attained the widespread popularity of their peers. However, all that changed with the release of their top 5 album The Seldom Seen Kid in 2008.
Self-produced, mixed and recorded by the band themselves, The Seldom Seen Kid is a startlingly strong testament to the band’s artistic vision. It has won acclaim everywhere from the Mercury Music Prize judges to Jools Holland and propelled Elbow onto the front line of British rock.
Now Elbow has announced they will play a one-off gig at the MEN Arena this September. Rounding off a summer full of festival appearances and what promises to be an astonishing concert alongside the Halle orchestra at this year’s Manchester International Festival, this gig is the perfect way to celebrate the Mancunian band’s newfound success. Get down there and spread the love.
