Feast!

Feast!

The best family-friendly event of the year takes over Platt Fields Park this June.

There are literally thousands of events taking place in Manchester over the course of the year. From huge stadium shows to art exhibitions, tiny fringe theatre shows in the basement of Taurus to massive musicals at The Palace Theatre, street parties like Eurocultured through to the artistically breathtaking Manchester International Festival, the sheer variety of events on offer is one of Manchester's biggest draws.

Having said that, there will always be a handful of events which really stand out and for us, Feast! is definitely one of them. For three days each summer, Platt Fields Park is transformed into a magical place where families, students and people of every age and culture come together to picnic by the lake and enjoy some of the most weird and wonderful acts from around Europe.

Imagine, for example, an entire hillside of people from every background dancing to a stage full of Arabic drummers. Or entire families watching openmouthed at a group of Spanish aerial dancers performing a ballet mid-air. Or the faces of picnickers as they watch a procession of German performers dressed up as lobsters trundle past.

With 6 stages hosting everything from Indian circus to fire-blazing tango, promenade performers keeping things surreal while you picnic and dreamy illuminations lighting up the sky as the evening draws in, Feast! really is an extraordinary way to spend a weekend. And, best of all, it is entirely, 100% free. So pack up your picnic, grab a blanket and we'll see you there.
