Finley Quaye Headlines Don't Party, 21st September
In Gigs
Archived: This event was in 2007.
If anyone conjures up the sound of lazy summers, it is Finley Quaye. His sun-soaked, reggae-influenced vocals have won him a huge audience and the title of Best Artist at the Brit Awards. He has also worked with some incredible artists including William Orbit, A Guy Called Gerald and Beth Orton over the years.
Quaye will be performing in Manchester as the headliner at Don't Party, a one-off event hosted by Don't Panic at the Contact Theatre. Don't Panic have, over the last ten years, become standard bearers for youth culture and underground music.
Don't Party will be a ten-hour multimedia extravaganza, taking in live jazz, soul, folk and reggae, VJs, Capoeira performers, booze, art, and a heady mix of everything from funk to dubstep as the night goes on.
