Happy Mondays Announce Second Christmas Date 14th December

In Gigs

Happy Mondays tickets go on sale

Happy Mondays have just announced they will play a Christmas homecoming show at Manchester Central, on Friday 14 December.

The band are as much a part of Manchester as Coronation Street, the Manc swagger and bringing up the Hacienda in front of Southerners.  After their appearance in Manchester as part of Manchester International Festival in July (which sold out in seconds), critics have been raving about their continued ability to turn a crowd of normal-looking people into euphoric, dancing lunatics as they tour up and down the country.

The Christmas show promises to be, quite simply, one of the biggest gigs of the year. Shaun Ryder and co performed one of the best-remembered sets of their career at the venue in 1990 (though it was called G-Mex then). After a few years in the wilderness, the band are now back on form - Bez still dancing his heart out and Shaun still swaggering round the stage like a drunken king - and have some cracking new material to boot.
