Horrible Histories: Frightful First World War

The Opera House will be invaded by loathsome lice, terrible trench foot and Dick the plane-spotting chicken when the Horrible Histories show comes to town.

The sensational Horrible Histories tour returns to the Opera House this November with an exciting double bill of shows that will thrill both you and your children. The Frightful First World War centres on the story of Angelica, who gets sucked into her laptop during a thunderstorm and must travel through the five years of WW1 to get home. Lost in a world of squelching trenches, rotten rats and fearsome flies, will Angelica and her friend, 15 year old soldier Paul, manage to escape before Angelica's laptop runs out of battery and locks her into the Great War forever?

Combining live action from Birmingham Stage Company, special effects and a script by acclaimed children's playwright Mark Williams, The Frightful First World War brings Terry Deary's bestselling children's book to life before your eyes, leading to a breathtaking finale (in 3D Bogglevision) that puts you at the heart of the action alongside soldiers at the battle of Passchendaele as rockets explode all around you.

With its combination of fascinating facts and astounding theatrics, this show (and sister production Horrible Histories: The Woeful Second World War) is the perfect way to get your children excited about history. Get tickets now!
