The singer-songwriter tours the UK in July showcasing his new album.
Jason Mraz returns with hotly anticipated new album 'We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.' on June 9th through Atlantic Records. This is preceded by the single ‘I’m Yours’ on May 26th (digital) and June 2nd (physical).
In true Mraz style, the 12 tunes are wrapped in clever, observant lyrics and strong, engaging pop melodies, but this time they are inspired “by these moments of self realisation, self empowerment and self improvement. I was happy to be able to write an album at the same time I was coming back to earth.”
The album takes its title from a piece of art by Glasgow-based doodle artist David Shrigley that Mraz saw in Scotland while traveling. “What I love about mankind is that yes, we sing and we celebrate and we dance when we’re foolish and we steal things,” says Mraz, who asked Shrigley to design the album art. “It’s hard to have a new idea in music, in fashion, the land we walk on. It’s all recycled. I think to say we stole it is a lot more fun.”
'We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.' follows Mraz’s two previous studio releases: 2002’s RIAA platinum-certified breakthrough, 'Waiting For My Rocket To Come’, and 2005’s ‘Mr. A-Z’, which debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200, with career-best first week sales exceeding 80,000. Mraz has also released a series of concert recordings, including 2004’s 'Tonight, Not Again’, ‘Jason Mraz Live At The Eagles Ballroom’, and 2006’s digital-only release, ‘Selections For Friends’.
