Joe Stretch and Neil Rollinson at the Martin Harris Centre 30th June
In Literature
The University of Manchester presents an early evening burst of poetry and prose.
New novelist Joe Stretch (Friction) and poet Neil Rollinson (Demolition) have been Writers in Residence at the Centre for New Writing during 2007/08.
Joe Stretch's controversial debut novel, Friction, was published in early March 2008 and has been described by Boyd Tonkin in The Independent as "...raw, wild, aflame with ideas, [it] will bring a kill-or-cure medicinal shock to our post-boom hangover".
Neil Rollinson's most recent collection, Demolition, was published in September 2007 to acclaim from Alan Brownjohn in The Sunday Times, who described it as his "best book", in which he "catches to perfection the sensation of finding happiness in sheer oddity".
This event is presented by the University's Centre for New Writing.
