The kings of indie rock and roll announce an intimate show at Manchester Academy.
Last time Kaiser Chiefs played in Manchester, they packed out the MEN Arena with 18,000 ecstatic fans. So it is no wonder that news of an intimate show at Manchester Academy has the indie community excited.
The band had a phenomenal rise to stardom, with their first album Employment selling enough copies to certify them five times platinum. The singles Oh My God, I Predict a Riot, Every Day I Love You Less and Less and Modern Way were rarely off the radio waves, while their energetic live shows and festival appearances quickly established them as an antidote to bland indie.
By the time their second album was released they had amassed a massive fan base that propelled the album to the #1 spot in the UK charts. Lead single Ruby and follow-ups Everything is Average Nowadays and The Angry Mob all had a serious impact in the charts, while their tour sold out across the country.
Their October tour will introduce fans to their third album, Off With Their Heads. Produced by Eliot James and Mark Ronson (whose cover of Oh My Gosh featuring Lily Allen was a huge hit in its own right), the album will be released on 13h October to coincide with their Manchester date, where they will be supported by Late Of The Pier.
Tickets go on sale at 9am Thursday morning and, given that this could be the last chance to see the band in a venue of this size, it is unlikely that they'll last the day. Get your mouse at the ready!
