Kendal Calling at Lowther Deer Park, Cumbria, 31st July to 2nd August

Archived: This event was in 2009.
The Streets, The Zutons and Andrew Wetherell headline a huge outdoor park in the Lake District.
The Lake District is home to some of the UK's most stunning scenery, punctuated by sleepy villages and grazing sheep and cows. Often the only sound to be heard is the gentle hum of the bumblebee as it gathers pollen from wildflowers, or the soft babble of a brook making its way through the limestone valleys...
But once a year, a festival arrives in Kendal which turns the local area into a haven for music lovers across the north west. Kendal Calling has been running for four years, and each year sees the festival grow in size and ambition. This year's party will bring 6000 people to Lowther Deer Park for three days as musicians, comedians, minstrels, jugglers, dancers and spoken word maestros strut their stuff.
The line up includes:
The Streets
The Zutons
Ash
Idlewild
Goldie Lookin Chain
Twisted Wheel
Whiskey Cats
Sunshine Underground
Andrew Wetherall
Stanton Warriors
Iration Steppas
Beardy Man
Krafty Kuts

Family-friendly, small enough to feel like you're part of a community and with plenty going on alongside the music, Kendal Calling is a bargain at just £70 for the full weekend (including camping) or day tickets for £35. Give yourself a treat this summer!
