Lucy Porter brings her Love In show to The Lowry 16th March
In Comedy
The sweet-faced, acid-tongued comic examines the ins and outs of love in her new show.
Lucy Porter has been called "the Fringe's pre-eminent female stand-up", "a young Felicity Kendall" and "the comic equivalent of a Radox bath". Pairing an innocent, adorable demeanor with razor-shap observational comedy, the comic has earned rave reviews from each of her Fringe festival appearances.
Her latest show, Love In, examines every aspect of love. Is romantic love more important than familial love, platonic love or religious love? The ancient Greeks had many different words for love - eros, philia, agape, storge etc. – but the Greeks also invented anal sex, central heating and the hula hoop, so they clearly had plenty of time on their hands…
Porter consistenly proves that there is more to stand-up than watching an angry man shout on stage and make unkind comments about his audience. An evening with Lucy leaves you smiling, energised and happy - get tickets now!
