Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake at The Lowry 1st – 6th March
In Dance
Matthew Bourne's groundbreaking interpretation of Swan Lake returns to The Lowry.
When Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake premiered with an all-male cast in 1995 it caused a sensation, not only turning tradition on its head but also marking out Bourne as one of the hottest choreographers of recent times.
The shock of an all-male cast may have worn off but the sheer beauty of Bourne's choreography continues to leave audiences breathless fifteen years on. Menacing, provocative, powerful and poignant by turns, the show has changed how audiences the world over see this most famous of ballets and has won more than thirty awards (including four Tony awards) over the course of its four international tours.
Now you have the chance to see the show for yourself. Following the success of Bourne's The Car Man and Edward Scissorhands at The Lowry, Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake will come to the venue for six days this March. Get tickets now!
