Maximo Park at Manchester Academy 23rd May

With their third album waiting in the wings, Maximo Park get ready to unleash rock mayhem on Manchester Academy.

Manchester has a special place in the hearts of Maximo Park. Back in the days before the band had recruited singer Paul Smith, they performed at Manchester’s In The City festival, and have since returned a number of times to an ever-growing fan base as albums A Certain Trigger and Our Earthly Pleasures stormed the charts.

Now, with a third album due for release this spring, Maximo Park are getting ready to return to the city with a show at Manchester Academy. Those who have seen them at any one of their many festival appearances know that a Maximo Park gig is a high-energy experience, with huge guitar riffs, heavy drums and Paul Smith’s eccentric, Cocker-esque dancing hyping up a crowd who sing along with every lyric.
