Nederland Dans Theater 2 at The Lowry 16th – 17th June

One of the world's hottest young dance companies blazes a trail at The Lowry this June.

For the last 30 years, Nederlands Dans Theatre 2 has showcased some of the finest young dancers in the world. Composed entirely of dancers between the ages of 17 and 23, the company is internationally renowned for its technical ability and the forceful energy of its dancers.

This June, Nederland Dans Theater 2 will return to The Lowry for their 10th UK tour. With two UK premieres choreographed by leading international practitioners and the reprise of Ohad Naharin's outstanding Minus 16, this show will give audiences the chance to see balletic modern dance at its finest.

Juri Kylian's Gods and Dogs first showed at the company's base in The Hague to rapturous reviews. Set to Beethoven's String Quartet Opus 18, this piece combines technical brilliance with an emotional impact that demonstrates why Kylian's choreography has defined the company's aesthetic over the last few years.

His work is complemented by a second UK premiere, Offspring, choreographed by Lukas Timulak. Timulak is a former member of Nederlands Dans Theater 2 and still dances with sister company Nederlands Dans Theater 1. This piece was inspired by the birth of his first child.
