Discover Manchester's musical history through a tour of the city with Urbis.

Following the success of Urbis' Factory Records tour, you are now invited to explore another period in Manchester's musical history.

The 1960's were an important time for Manchester. Many of the leading musicians of the day came to play gigs around the city; but where did they play? What was Manchester like then? And are any of the venues still standing?

Find out as Urbis take you on a tour of the city. See the places visited by all star acts such as The Hollies, Jimi Hendrix and Ike and Tina Turner; find out where Manchester's Northern Soul crowd wet their whistles; discover celebrated venues such as the Oasis club, where entrance cost just 25p. Discover the local bands of the time and find out how the Twisted Wheel managed to keep their music Manchester's best-loved secret...

Tours are available at a cost of £4 per person on the following dates:

January:

Saturday 12th & 26th

10.00 am - 12.00 pm


February:

Saturday 9th & 23rd

10.00 am - 12.00 pm


March:

Saturday 8th & 15th

10.00 am - 12.00 pm
