New Writers at MMU series

Following on from the success of last year's readings, MMU have begun a new series of readings from leading poets and writers.
There will an appearance from Peter Flannery on 1st November. Flannery is the creator of the acclaimed TV series 'Our Friends in the North', 'Blind Justice', and his adaptation of Alan Hunter's Inspector Gently novels, 'George Gently', which was broadcast on BBC ONE earlier this year. He has also written the screenplays for films and stage and has been awarded the Dennis Potter Writer's Award for outstanding achievement in television writing.
Peter Benson, whose novels include 'The Levels' (winner of the Guardian Fiction Prize, The Authors’ Club First Novel Award and the Betty Trask Prize), 'A Lesser Dependency' (The Encore Award), and 'The Other Occupant' (The Somerset Maugham Award) will appear on 8th November.
The series is run by the Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University and is open to the public.
