Omid Djalili at The Lowry 11th to 12th April

From TV shows and films to stand-up comedy, Omid Djalili is one of the UK's most well-known comics.

Omid Djalili first caught the attention of audiences and critics at the Edinburgh Festival in the early nineties. Since then he has gone on to appear in films such as The Mummy, Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean III as well as a starring role in Whoopi Goldberg's self-titled US sitcom and numerous shows on British television including "The Omid Djalili Show."

His stand-up shows continue to be a huge success. Drawing deeply from his own experiences as a British-Iranian at a time when relationships between the East and West are progressively worsening, his material is both political and personal.

But more than that, it is extremely funny. As the Guardian says, ""If we dropped Omid Djalilis all over the west instead of bombs across the middle east, the world would be a far happier place."
