Paul Weller at the M.E.N. Arena 18th November

The Modfather plays tracks from his new album plus some old favourites at the Arena.
Paul Weller plays a single Manchester date in November. There's no doubting just how much of a profound influence he has had on the contemporary Britpop and indie scene in the UK, with Ocean Colour Scene and Oasis being among the bands that have developed their sounds thanks in part to his music.
Paul is always willing to allow his sound to evolve and grow and this has kept him at the forefront of the UK music scene for 21 years, ever since The Jam had their first top 40 hit with 'In The City'. His new album '22 Dreams' features guest appeances, ironically, from Graham Coxon of Blur and Noel Gallagher of Oasis, both members of bands that were tagged as rivals in the nineties but are now featured on the same vinyl.'Echoes Round The Sun' is the first single and was co-written by Weller and Gallagher.
Paul's music has proven to be not just cross-generational, but has also appealed to different audiences in terms of genre, with a performance playing a soulful, relatively easy-listening track on Jools Holland's show just as likely as a set of raw, funky rock at Glastonbury.
