Monaco reform for a one-off gig to raise money for Oxfam at Manchester Ritz.
The band was created when Peter Hook, during a break from recording with his band New Order, joined forces with David Potts. Monaco enjoyed global success with the two albums they recorded, with What Do You Want From Me charting at #11 in the singles charts. After the second album the pair separated, with Hook returning to New Order.
However, they have decided to reform for a one-off gig at Manchester Ritz as part of the Oxjam festival, a month of charity gigs around the country to raise money for Oxfam. Events range from huge concerts to sponsored busks and last year 20,000 musicians took part, raising £500,000 for the charity.
Other bands playing that night at Manchester Ritz include The Complete Stone Roses, Tom Hingley and the Lovers, Vinny Peculiar, Damian Morgan & Mike Doyle, freelovebabies, The Peoples Revolutionary Choir, The deBretts and The Rools.
