Fresh from his success in Gavin and Stacey, Rob Brydon embarks on a UK tour.
Rob Brydon is quickly becoming one of the most recognisable faces in British comedy. After establishing himself as an excellent stand up comic he has appeared in many of the biggest British films of the last five years including Shaun of the Dead, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, A Cock and Bull Story and 24 Hour Party People. He has turned up on sitcoms from Black Books to I’m Alan Partridge, while making time for regular panel appearances on shows like QI and Have I Got News For You.
But it is his role in this year’s biggest comedy smash, BBC’s Gavin and Stacey, which has really propelled him to household name status. Playing on his Welsh roots, his character Bryn is one of the highlights of the show.
Now he is to set out on a UK-wide tour which draws even further on his Welsh roots. Where do the stereotypes come from? What does being Welsh really mean? And does anyone, apart from the Welsh themselves, really care? Combining his cheery outlook on life with a sharp eye for observational minutiae, this tour proves exactly why Rob Brydon is one of the leading names in the business.
