US fantasy author Stephen Donaldson will be appearing at Waterstones to promote his new book Fatal Revenant.
The American-born author first came to prominence with his trilogies The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, an Unbeliever, which tells the story of a leper who is to become the ultimate saviour of his home planet. There are two trilogies already published, and Fatal Revenant is the second of the final Chronicles series.
As well as The Chronicles, Donaldson has won huge audiences with his The Gap series and the A Man Who detective novels, which he published under the pseudonym Reed Stephens.
Donaldson's writings are often compared in significance to the Narnia and Dune series', and his many awards (including Best Novel at the British Fantasy Awards and the President's Award from the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts.
