Stomp at The Lowry, 29th January to 2nd February
In Dance
Archived: This event was in 2008.
After wowing audiences around the world, the infectious feelgood show visits The Lowry.
In this inventive and unique show eight performers grab bins, brooms and other mundanne objects and use them to beat out a rhythm that is sure to get the whole audience on their feel. Stomp blends comedy, theatre, percussion and dance in an infectious and life-affirming production.
Stomp was created by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas in 1991, after the pair had worked together as street theatre artists at the Edinburgh Festival. Since its premiere the show has gone on to play in packed-out theatres around the world and has received an Olivier nomination for Best Entertainment and won Best Choreography in a West End show in 1994.
