The Fratellis at Manchester Academy 25th November 2008
In Gigs
Hot on the heels of the success of their second album and a killer show at T In the Park, the Glaswegian indie rockers get set to tour the UK.
The Fratellis have had an incredible couple of years. Within a short time of the band forming they had been lauded by NME as the best new band of 2006. A few short months later, their hit single Chelsea Dagger was blaring out of radios, popping up on TV programmes and had been adopted as a terrace chant. They had picked up a Brit award for Best Breakthrough Act. They had headlined four sell-out shows at Brixton Academy. And their debut album, Costello Music, had hit the number 2 spot in the UK Album Charts.
Fast forward to 2008 and the band are well-established as one of the hottest groups around. They have recently played at T In The Park, billing second only to Rage Against The Machine, and their second album Here We Stand has again earned them a place in the Top 10.
Their live shows are full of infectious energy, with a fanbase that knows how to have a good time. Expect to sing until you're hoarse, dance until you ache and smile all the way home.
