One of Manchester's most important museums celebrates 25 years at Liverpool Road.
The Museum of Science and Industry, or MOSI as it is often known, is one of Manchester's most important museums, bearing witness to the city's history as one of the country's leading centres for innovation, invention and discovery. The world's first industrialized city, Manchester has seen many incredible developments such as the first computer, the first passenger railway and the first telephone exchange alongside its rich cultural and political history.
MOSI is now celebrating 25 years of success with a special exhibition.
The Making of MOSI - 25th Anniversary Exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to see incredible artefacts from the MOSI archives, many being displayed for the very first time. They can also see how the museum has developed to its current incarnation, learning about prestigious key exhibitions that have established MOSI as a nationally leading museum such as Gunther von Haagen's Bodyworlds. Finally, they will have the chance to discover how the developments at MOSI reflect the wider changes of Manchester in the last 25 years.
Entry is free to all.
